From Sea to Summit

Our Holidays are almost over. But before we start the last leg of our mission; rowing the Pacific Ocean from California to Hawaii for #aquawareness

we like to emphasise our last and final leg of our mission: climbing the Mauna Kea mountain in Hawaii.

We started our project and mission early May 2024 with Team Ocean rowing down from Switzerland following the Rhine to Rotterdam; we named this mission; “From the Summit to the Sea”.
Now, we’re approaching our final leg. Rowing from California to Hawaii AND climbing one of the highest mountains on Earth. Yes, that’s right. We will be climbing a huge mountain right after we crossed the Pacific. Mount Everest is considered the highest mountain in the world when measuring height above sea level, with an impressive 8.848,86 meters.
However the true giant is Mauna Kea in Hawaii. From its base on the ocean floor to its summit, surpassing Everest by almost 1.400 meters. Only a portion of Mauna Kea rises above the water’s surface, standing 4.207 meters above sea level. Everest remains the tallest mountain on land, but Mauna Kea is the true colossus when considering total height – a hidden Giant in the Pacific!
